Hi, we’re Amity Builders
Led by Todd Ackerman, we’re a passionate team who’s doing our part to leave the building industry better than we found it. Since 2021, we’ve been building custom and architectural homes in and around Wollongong with the goal to “build better when we know better”.
So when we learned about Passive House building principles, we couldn’t look away. We’ve since pledged to build homes to a higher performance standard, leaving you with a house that’s more healthy, comfortable and energy-efficient. How good!

to elevate Australian industry standards by building Passive House and high performing homes, and empowering homeowners to make smarter, more informed choices for their health and comfort.
Our “why”
Homes should be comfortable and low maintenance for decades, not just the mandatory warranty period.

People
Collaborating with clients, architects/designers, and trades requires building (& maintaining) great relationships. We place a huge emphasis on communication, being true to our word, and being the building partner we’d want for ourselves.
Passion
If Todd (our Director) had to start over and choose a different career, he’d probably be a building scientist who does carpentry as a hobby. That’s to say, we love what we do. And we’d choose this (or a version of it) all over again if we had to.
Process
They say you’re only as good as your systems and processes. Our process-driven approach enables us to price accurately, be transparent with clients and architects, maximise efficiencies, and deliver the highest service and experience possible.
Planet
There are many houses around, but only one planet to call home. Building can be a very wasteful and unsustainable practice, so we look for ways to be less harmful to the Earth when and where we can across every phase of the project.
